Well, first let me say grading and researching sterling silver is not my day job. I am just beginning to clean out our house for our eventual move to warmer and less taxed climes. This fork belonged to my grandmother, then my mother and now me. From research, I think the maker is Alvin and the pattern Gainsborough . If I am wrong all you experts out there, PLEASE set me straight. The fork has NOT been cleaned. I have been told NOT to clean the silver and leave that to the buyer. Otherwise, in nice condition considering how old the fork is and it has been used. Not sure what the fork was used for, but my best guess is cocktail snacks?? The total length of the is about 5 2/8" and has 3 prongs. The fork has the monogram an "L", at least that is what it looks like to me. Please look at all the photos (if you need more let me know).
